In the third world including India, a sizeable proportion of population is starving. The most vulnerable are poorer sections of the population in States like Odisha and more particularly the Scheduled Tribe communities. They suffer, in spite of working very hard, from "food to fuel". They mostly depend on the primary activities of low productivity and market imperfections, resulting in unstable incomes. In this context, this paper seeks to analyse the food security and livelihood opportunities of the tribal communities in Odisha.Full Text
